Some Factoid

Larry Hovis was asked to write a Hogan's Heroes spin-off that would have featured the children of the "Heroes" during the Cold War, but the idea fell through after Bob Crane's untimely death.
Salt was used to represent snow on the Hogan's Heroes set during winter episodes.

Bob Crane was nominated for two Emmy Awards for his starring role in Hogan's Heroes, but did not win.
Although the Hogan's Heroes theme song was an instrumental, theme writer Jerry Fielding wrote lyrics.
Although Hogan's Heroes was still very popular in its final season, it was caught up in the CBS "rural purge" that took place just before the 1971-1972 television season, because the show appealed mainly to rural audiences and older people; so it was outside the advertisers' demographic.
The 40-acre back lot where Hogan's Heroes was filmed was also the home for Mayberry in The Andy Griffith Show.
Colonel Hogan was named after a friend of Hogan's Heroes creator Bernard Fein. The real Robert Hogan appeared in two episodes

This is facts from TVLand.

That would've been pretty cool.  Even though it wouldn't have been the same without characters like Schultz, Klink and Burkhalter.

Intresting facts there. I like everyone else would love that spin-off. I wonder what all their kids would be like.

I found another fact (its one of about Larry Hovis)
-Backstage at the set of Hollywood Place, Larry Hovis was outside taking a smoke break and noticed a strange woman trying to take off with one of Bing Crosby's kids. He stopped the woman and took the child to Bing's assistant and promised not to tell anyone as long as the assisitant agreed to keep a better eye out for the child.
